Safeguarding

Safety and dignity come first

These are draft commitments that would govern any future programme. A full safeguarding policy and reporting mechanism will be developed during design.

Children & vulnerable people

Zero tolerance of exploitation, with child-safe hosting and guiding practices built into every strand.

Women's safety

Protection from harassment and gender-based violence for hosts, vendors and guides.

Visitor safety

Clear standards for accommodation, boats and excursions, and transparent incident handling.

Fair work

Fair pay, consent and no forced or child labour across any supported enterprise.

Environment

Respect for reefs, mangroves and marine life, guided by conservation science.

Data & privacy

Personal information collected only with consent and stored securely once systems exist.

If someone is in immediate danger

This website does not yet operate a reporting service. Please contact Kenyan emergency services or local police directly.

Help shape the programme

We are seeking conversations with partners, county stakeholders and women entrepreneurs during the design phase.
