Three counties, one coastline

The proposal considers Kwale, Kilifi and Mombasa. Focus areas below are indicative and will be refined with county stakeholders.

Kwale

South coast beaches, coral lagoons and community forests. Potential focus: reef visitor management, marine excursion safety and beach vendor rights.

Creeks, mangroves and dhow traditions. Potential focus: mangrove ecotourism, dhow heritage and women-owned guesthouses.

Old Town heritage and a busy visitor economy. Potential focus: culinary trails, homestay safety and vendor enterprise.

No county agreements are in place. Engagement with county governments would form part of the design phase.
